Surgeon and Veterinarian in Honolulu – Dr. Patrick Leadbeater/Kahala Pet Hospital
Looking for a veterinarian in Honolulu?
I’m Dr. Patrick Leadbeater, and I’ve been a Veterinarian in Honolulu for more than 30 years. Our practice, Kahala Pet Hospital, is best know for our surgical expertise, but we also enjoy working with you and your pets on everything from new puppy/kitten exams to the special needs of senior pets.
Our established patients know that, due to redevelopment issues in the Kahala area, we went through a period of office space challenges. We are happy to announce that we have now joined with Richard Paiz, who you may recall supported us as a technician for many years. Richard has opened his own business – Barks & Purrs Pet Day Care & More in Kaimuki. His business is directly above our office. You can look for his banner on the fence facing Waialae Ave. As a reference point, keep your eyes open for Salz Lock and Key, and turn into their driveway. Directions and a map to our new location can be found by scrolling down this page.
We hope that you will call us soon to schedule an appointment or consultation.
Thank you for your past and continued support,
Dr. Patrick Leadbeater, and Staff
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
Our office is at 3020 Waialae Ave., between Premiere Automotive (shown on the map as Saab Hawaii) and Salz Lock and Key.
Enter at the driveway for Salz Lock and Key, then immediately turn right into the adjacent parking area for our office. You’ll see a converted house at the back of the lot. We’re located on the ground floor.

At Kahala Pet Hospital, we know how important and precious your pets are to you. We embrace that relationship and truly consider each of them part of our practice family too. We strive to provide the best, most complete care for your pet. Our personal care of our patients has always felt like making friends. We always take the time to greet each pet and make the examination comfortable for them. This non-stressful approach has built a far reaching reputation for us. In addition, our surgical passion and skills have grown that reputation as well.
Whether you’re new to the area or Islands, are looking for a second opinion, or have decided to change clinics, we encourage you to read the testimonials from our current clients, or check out the reviews on Yelp. Do your research, listen to what others are saying. When you’re ready, please call us at 808-735-4433, or email us for a consultation.
Every time I met Dr. Leadbeater he has been kind, patient and thorough in his examinations diagnosis and explanations. To my cats, he is always gentle and playful and they never feel uncomfortable. I hope my young cats wont have to see Doc Leadbeater very much, but if they do, I would wholeheartedly trust him. I very much recommend him and all their chill staff.
